Today’s Topic: A Great Calm
Scripture: When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. – Mark 4:39, NLT

Today’s Word
We all have dreams and promises from God we’re believing for. We start off excited. We’re sailing along fine, making progress, then a storm arises—an unexpected challenge, a sickness, a breakup, we lose a loved one, a contract we were counting on doesn’t go through. It’s easy to get discouraged and think that it’s never going to happen. But God doesn’t promise something and then change His mind. He doesn’t put a dream in your heart and then take it back.

What He starts, He finishes. You may not see a way, but God has ways we’ve never thought of. Storms come to us all. It might be your health, your marriage, your finances. The good news is that God is in control of the winds. He’s in control of what’s trying to stop you. All He has to do is speak the word and calm the storm. Will you trust Him even though the winds are howling and you don’t see any sign of it improving? God is directing the winds, and He’s going to get you to where you’re supposed to be.

Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that the winds and waves that I face today cannot stop Your plan for my life. Thank You that my purpose is firmly and securely anchored in You. I believe and declare that the storms cannot defeat me and are pushing me into my destiny. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ordinary favor is when you get the promotion that you deserved. You worked hard. You were faithful. It was your turn. But uncommon favor is when God catapults you ahead. He gives you a position that you didn’t see coming. You weren’t qualified. You didn’t have the experience, but suddenly, you’re at a level you never dreamed. Ordinary favor is when you pay your house off after thirty years.

God sustains you and provides. And we’re grateful. But uncommon favor is when you come into explosive blessings, abundance that you never saw coming. You pay it off in a fraction of the time. Ordinary favor is when you’re able to deal with the sickness, manage the addiction, learn to live with it. Uncommon favor is when God sets you free, turns your health around, defies the odds, does what medicine cannot do. We’re thankful for ordinary favor: God sustaining us, providing, protecting.

We don’t take that for granted. But I want you to get ready for uncommon favor. God is about to show out in your life. You’re coming into a year of uncommon promotion, opportunities chasing you down. Uncommon influence, new levels of leadership and respect. Uncommon wisdom, ideas and creativity that you never had. Uncommon healing, vitality, and strength.
